Lesson Plan:

Students will be assigned groups to review the material on one of four different topics. Each group will have the information needed to review each topic in a folder. Each has information that tells part of the story of Poplar Island. Together, the four folders examine the history of Poplar Island from a thriving small community to a vanishing habitat to a successful environmental restoration project. After students review their folder, they will be creating a poster or PowerPoint summarizing the key concepts, facts, and information in their "folder." About us

The Port of Baltimore Environmental Education Team provides hands-on lessons about the Port's history and significance. They also teach about the Port's environmental initiatives throughout Maryland, focusing on environmental projects related to dredging and restoration.
